The upcoming Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl has added fuel to the fire of a popular NFL conspiracy involving the colors in the logo.

The Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory proposes that the colors in the logo predict which teams will play against each other in the championship NFL playoff game and that the NFL controls the outcome. Theorists suggest the NFL is scripted for revenue purposes.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have landed in New Orleans for Super Bowl week. Most Eagles players and staff wore black sweatsuits with a “Super Bowl LIX” logo across the chest. Chiefs coach Andy Reid wore a blue suit with a red tie.

For the first two years of the new generation of Super Bowl logos, the colors on the logo have lined up with the game’s eventual matchup — Bengals vs. Rams and then Chiefs vs. Eagles. That streak only ended last season when the Ravens lost to the Chiefs in AFC title game, but we came awfully close to three in a row.
