Ex-Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart joined the Vegas Golden Knights after being acquitted of sexual assault in a high-profile case.

The Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday announced that goaltender Carter Hart will be joining the organization. Hart became eligible to sign with an NHL team after he was one of five players acquitted of sexual assault charges stemming from an incident in 2018 when they were members of Canada's World Junior Championship gold-medal team.

Hart, who was acquitted in July of sexual assault, has not played in the NHL since January 2024. He was not eligible to sign until Wednesday and will remain suspended until Dec. 1.
