This is a not your average International Harvester vertical engine… It's a non-pareil engine,(meaning no equal in French.) They were designed to be cheaper and were for shipping internationally. Fairbanks-Morse was beating IHC in vertical engines sales and the company struggled to compete. Ultimately, the non-pareil line was unsuccessful, with a limited production run.
