Camels are deeply woven into the fabric of Israel's history, culture, and landscape. Known as the "ships of the desert," camels have been integral to life in the region for thousands of years, serving as transport for goods and people across the harsh terrain. The Negev and Arava deserts, which cover much of southern Israel, were once traversed by caravans of camels along ancient trade routes like the Incense Route, connecting Arabia (where Arabs actually originate from 😉) to the Mediterranean.
