In 2020, the North Allegheny virtual choir, under the direction of Choral Director David Schmiech, delivered a moving rendition of Billy Joel's song "New York State of Mind." The new HBO documentary about Billy Joel features a series of performances of this song, and the North Allegheny virtual choir is included alongside some legendary artists.
