The Mary Rose – setting a course for a bright future 🧭 ✨ Built in 1510-1511 and commissioned by Henry VIII, the Mary Rose was one of his favourite ships until she sank in 1845 during the Battle of the Solent. After many years of searching, excavation and recording, the hull of the ship was finally raised in 1982 and the Mary Rose was brought home to Portsmouth Dockyard, where she’d been built 500 years earlier.
